It has become a great concern across the globe that corruption and poverty have been integrated as social phenomenon that have over the years infested many societies, including Nigeria. This article examines the political economy of corruption, Poverty and Protraction of National Integration in Nigeria. The paper establishes that there is a link between corruption and poverty. While many people see corruption as rooting from poverty, this paper contends that corruption is instead a source for the emergence and exacerbation of poverty. The paper has established the prevalence of so many cases of corruption involving government agents in Nigeria since 1985. It further argues that such corrupt practices have caused and also promoted poverty in Nigeria. The paper generally adopts the multidisciplinary approach in its methodology to unravel its findings.
