The history of transport and public transport concept are as old as the history of man, creation, civilization and the attendant human transformation of cities and settlements from time immemorial. This is because, nothing moves without the “grace” and “process” of transport (which is mobility). Therefore, to achieve meaningful interaction (which is the essence of movement) within a particular area, various modes of transport were evolved. Nevertheless; irrespective of the transport need of man, certain specific, physical, economic and demographic determinants or attributes must be present or available for the development of a viable public transport system meeting that need.
